Short Film ‘Victim’ Among Early Successes of AREEL Funding

AREEL Shorts & Animation welcomes films under 40 minutes in length, showcasing African filmmakers and projects with significant African content. They host screenings and discussions throughout the year to entertain audiences, foster networking, and raise funds to support emerging talents in launching their filmmaking careers. One of the first films produced with this funding is the short film “Victim.”

The AREEL Annual International Cinema Award, presented by Acheampong Magazine in Kumasi, Ghana, honors and celebrates African filmmakers and projects with significant African content for their exceptional achievements. In its inaugural edition, AREEL received over 57 entries, which were categorized into various award categories.
